Wow miro, that is quite a fake news heading you came up with.

What they actually say:
The biennual photokina will become annual and will move from September to May. Since May is very close to the last photokina in September, the next one will be in 2020. Thanks for the fake news attempt!

Petapixel is not the only website saying the next photokina will be in May 2020:

Okay, FujiRUMORS might not be the best source, but DPReview as well. Also, if we would countercheck all news here, we'd be very busy... Wink I think, Miro deserves an apology  Sleepy

What about going to the official website and reading the announcement posted there together with the press release?

Quote:Next photokina from May 27-30, 2020

After a very successful photokina 2018 we've decided together with our partners from the Photo Industry Association (Photoindustrie-Verband) to hold the next photokina in May 2020 instead of May 2019. From Wednesday, 27 May until Saturday, 30 May, 2020 we'll be expecting all market leaders from the imaging industry in Cologne again.

From September '18 to May '19 are only 8 months. A huge difference to the 24 months in between each Phtokinas so far. It's not a bad thing to give the companies some time to come up with new products worth to display. So the next Photokina in May 2020 still it's only 20 months away. Maybe we'll see some new stuff from L-mount lens and camera makers. It's a good thing to wait a bit longer.

Duh. Photokina 2019 is not canceled, that is just fake news. Photokina goes from biannual to annual and from September to May. Because we had a photokina already in September, next will be in may 2018. Nothing to see, and yes, a fake news heading.

So, I'll meet you then in May 2018. Always wanted to know how this Flux compensator works. Will work. Will have had would work or whatever tense is about to be correct in May 2018.

I read the fake news, Photokina was in September and is about to change to be annually. No Photokina in 2019, but postponed to 2020, that's what I understand when I hear "is cancelled". But again, the BC automatic to be always right, even in being wrong, kicked in...we should know by now.  Big Grin

Yeah, go on with the nonsense. They shift from September to may, and because they had one this September, next one will be May 2020. That they never canceled Photokina is just a detail.

The only nonsense comes from you, BC. Wether you see it or not: 2018 the people behind Photokina said, from now on it will happen annually. Which means once per year. They didn't say "from 2020 on" at the moment of the announcement and therefore calling the Photokina 2019 "cancelled" is spot on.

No, calling photokina canceled is... fake news.
