Even though it is a Sony, it appears to be a pretty lovely lens ;-)
Or to put it in a different way, a shame it is a Sony.

Nope. The tack sharp eyes in action scenes you can watch at DPReview will remain impossible for Nikon users for quite a while. Sony is clearly ahead with their eye tracking. And the Sigma 135 is as good as the Sony... that Sony lens is a real marvel.

Another 135; zeiss and sigma are already pretty good i wonder what this one brings to the table that is new.

How about "one of the best AF-systems available in ML-land"? Wink

Wonder how well this adapter is going to work? It could be the start of a beautiful friendship. Smile

Meanwhile, 135mm prime-wise I am stuck with an old Nikkor 135mm f2.8 "K" for now.
Wide open performance (100% crop inset):

Not too bad for a 1970's lens, and it will sharpen up nicely with a bit of USM or something(better). But not free of LoCA, no AF, and only nice bokeh very up close. and at 600 grams, not exactly a lightweight either (courtesy of very thick lens elements).

Killerglass, according to Lensrentals: https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2019/03...f-results/

No, I'm still happy with the Sigma. No, I don't need to change camera mounts. No, Sony's UI still is in between from here to comfy zone.

I'm sort of running out of Mantras.  Rolleyes

How much is that α7 III again?
