I bought this lens a few months ago for a good price (310 euros) but ended up returning it. Having the 24-70 f2.8 GM, I felt it was not offering enough over the zoom to justify keeping it. Recently I was having second thoughts, mainly because is obviously much smaller and lighter than the zoom, so much more portable, but reading this review i think I made the right choice.

Anyway, any thoughts about that?

Well, as you noticed I wasn't overly fond of this Sony lens so yes, I think you made a sensible decision there.

Of course, there's the question of what to go for instead. The Batis 25 or the new Tamron 24 are surely much better but they have their own issues (price or speed).

Samyang has strong sample variations so their 24mm may be a hit or miss.
