Pentax announces the D FA* 85mm F1.4 SDM AW
Hi guys ........ a new lens for the K mount:

Model name: HD PENTAX-D FA85mmF1.4 SDM AW
Launch date: Scheduled to be launched in late, 2020
  • By incorporating three Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass optical elements, it effectively compensates chromatic aberrations and produces brilliant, high-contrast images even from open aperture.
  • Adopts one aspherical lens and achieves high delineation performance with good correction of spherical aberration, coma and field curvature.
  • High speed and smooth operation with newly developed SDM (Supersonic Direct-drive Motor) equipped with high torque ring type ultrasonic motor
  • Developing as an AW (All Weather model) this lens features a dependable dust-proof, weather-resistant structure to prevent the intrusion of water and dust into the lens interior.

One of the most waited for lenses in the Pentax lineup!
Dave's clichés
Nice; but it would be nicer when they'll actually announce it (with market availability date and so on).
I'm sure Tokina will give the green light to announce it soon.
I was expecting you to do what you do best. Hoped it won't happen, but expecting it.

Tokina? Too busy rebadging second tier Chinese stuff:
Rebadging Pentax was probably too much for them.

Out in less than a couple of weeks. Price in the €2k range. I picked up the DFA* 70-200/2.8 to go with my DFA*50/1.4 over the weekend so will sit out the first batch and get one of the 2nd batch Wink
Fun times to be a Pentaxian.
