For Dave R5 autofocus for birds in flight
#16
Ok .... the test is done ...... 37° "in the shade" (we were all sweating) ..... at 4K at 24Fps in max quality @100 ISO using the Samyang 14mm F2.8 in manual mode ..... crop is 1.5X on the APSc sensor

....... the full 29min 59 sec was completed without a glitch  ... (no warning symbols)....... and the whole camera body was "hot everywhere" to the touch afterwards, which shows the camera lets the heat out to the outside world ....... the battery still showed 2/3rds charge after filming .....

..... this a test mainly aimed at giving me an idea whether the D500 could do the job ..... and as usual the D500 didn't let me down .....

 ....... please don't take this as a comparison between the R5 and the A7SIII ...... it isn't !! ...... and come back with all the "wasn't this's and wasn't that's" ..... it did not stop !!

...... but it does show that a great sports DSLR can successfully be used as a video camera with good 4K IQ to film, without stopping or overheating, when the moment demands, even in the height of the heat wave we are suffering from here !!

..... just provide a little shade of any sort and you will do fine ...

 Bravo the D500!!
