I am not sure it is a 58mm f1.2, but which other minolta has the print outside the filter threads?
Went to have a real peak in the window of the shop, it is a AF 50mm f1.4 lens with 49mm filter thread.
I recon it is a not a bad deal for Sony SLR/SLT shooters as there is another lens (tele) in the bag, but not for me.

Ah, ok. That does not explain the lettering on the outside, unless it is the filter lettering.
The only other minolta lenses apart from the 58 F/1.2 I know with lettering on the outside are the 35-70 zoom (many variants), the 100-200 zoom, and the 250 F/5.6 mirror lens. Maybe there are more, however.
Kind regards, Wim
Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 2 zooms, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....
Yeah it was a filter. Oh well.
Well, Canon releases the R5 FW update addressing overheating ...... small improvements in shooting time ........ quicker cool down times ..... small tweaks ......
........ and a few general fixes .........
........ those hoping for big changes are going to be disappointed ........
here's Gorden Laing's findings after installing and testing the FW ....
