Nikkor Z 50mm f1.2 S and Nikkor Z 14-24mm f2.8 S revealed
#2
An obvious lens to compare this new Nikkor Z 50mm f1.2 S with is the Canon RF 50mm f1.2 L USM.
The Nikkor is a bit heavier (1090g vs 950g), and is a tad more complex with 2 more elements (17 vs 15). The Nikkor is considerably bigger (150mm vs 108mm).

Very different lens designs, resulting in a longer front heavy Nikkor, with big front elements in comparison. I wonder if the difference in design philosophy results in less vignetting in images with the new Nikkor?

If I read them correctly, the Nikkor is as sharp or even a tad sharper wide open as/than the Canon, so a very good lens (see Klaus' review of the Canon lens), and a bit more contrasty.
MFD also comparable (45cm with 0.15x magnification for the new Nikkor, 40cm with 0.19x magnification for the Canon).

The new Nikkor undercuts Canon's price: MSRP for the US $2100 according to dpreview ($2299 for the Canon).
