Canon RF 70-200mm f4 L IS USM as compact as its f2.8 sibling

Canon did the same with the f4 version as they did with the f2.8 version: make it small by making it extendable. No doubt this also will introduce widening focus breathing...

Nice and compact at least. One can't have everything...

Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 1 zoom, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....

Historically all the E*-83* hoods were for lenses with 77mm filter thread, and hilariously enough, they're all cross-compatible so ever since losing the hood for my 100-400 I'm using the one from 24/1.4 II on it, and it fits...

But 77mm filter thread for a 70-200/4 lens is a bit on the large side whereas all the other lenses had 67mm filter threads until the previous Canon and then the Panasonic...

The RF 70-200/2.8L IS costs USD2700. I reckon this one will be around 1800 then ...

Odd how they keep swapping the three rings around all the time.
