For landscapes, I like the 14mm f2.8 best. Very sharp and compact and for landscape no need for a fast aperture.
However, for environmental portraits for instance, I notice I use my 18mm f2 quite a bit. Hence, I think I'd appreciate a lot the ability to have more control of DOF with this new 18mm f1.4.
I find 16mm too wide for environmental portraits and 18mm is exactly right.
In practice I noticed that I really like the combo (APS-C): 18mm + 35mm over anything else.
I think as a minimal kit I'd be quite happy with 14, 18, 35.
