Still does match the 10-20 neatly for use in APS-C, a bit similar to how Canon 10-22 (almost) meshed well with the 24-70/24-105 lenses, and how later the 12-24/10-24 lenses fit it seamlessly.
Many people I knew were going for this kind of combo.
