Lenstip just reviewed the new Sony 50mm f1.4 GM: https://www.lenstip.com/index.php?test=o...est_ob=645

As with pretty much all new Sony glass, its IQ is outstanding.
In fact, it's the sharpest Sony lens they ever reviewed.

The progress in the performance of ultra-fast lenses has been very impressive over the last 3-4 years.
Despite having been the love child of many (at least the 85mm f/1.4s), they weren't really all that good at max aperture until recently.

I just hope that we are now through with the 50s ... ;-)

It would have been interesting to do a three-way comparison between the ZA 50/1.4, the GM 50/1.2 and the GM 50/1.4 here...

Tony and Chelsea published one on YT a few days ago. It is so so review but you will get the over all results. I was surprised that is not a 30 minutes presentation....

I didn't see any bokeh shots but for $1700 i have to assume it is decent in that area. Also the lens look nearly apo - but at $1700.....
