Probably commendable as the first (or at least among the first?) effort in the AF market?

I am considerng this lens for A6000 to be used by David-a 3 years old, do you think it is small enough and can tolerate some falls and bumps ? Sony 16mm is doing a good job here

I beat Rover and found a typo Big Grin
speaking about vignetting it is noted
4.65EV (f-stops) at f/2
obviously it meant f2.8 Smile

Vignetting here at f5.6 is still visible was auto correction used ?
Do you have any sky samples at f2.8 or any photos at f2.8 to evaulate vignettiing ?

I know there were some, I just wasn't in a position to read it all attentively and point 'em out. Smile

The sample images were processed via PS using the activated default correction.

from photos performance seems disappointing Sigma 30mmf2.8 should be a better choice here right ?

Wasn't it discontinued some time ago? It was not available in X-mount anyway.

It's discontinued long time ago, but you still can find especially on the used market, with raw material and shipping costs raising, low profit margin gear isn't a good business anymore...
Look at Canon they used to sell tons of entry level cameras and cheap kits, now they barely give any importance to this market segment
