Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G

Looks fairly big to me for what it is?
Sigma 500mm f/5.6

Makes me wonder whether I should regret buying a FE 200-600mm for my private use.

500mm vs 200-600mm? Nope, I'd say. Let's see price and weight.

Well, a 500mm prime sure doesn't compete directly with a 200-600mm zoom. The latter is way more versatile. The prime is more like a complement to - say - a 80-400 (100-400) zoom lens.

I would also expect that the prime has a better bokeh.
I still have the 70-200mm macro in my stock - so the 200mm end isn't needed.
But yes, flexibility - and especially framing - isn't quite as good.
