It was obvious and expected to complete the trilogy of rather compact fast somehow affordable  lenses.
However wish they made it  35 or even 50-135 instead.
This way you don't have to swap lenses (or in my case swap camera body plus lens. Since almost always, I use at least 2  camera bodies whenever possible) when doing portraiture.
At least for me, a fast 35-135  lens, is a portraits photographer dream lens.
One things worries me about this lens is STM autofocus....is it fast enough for portraiture and sports typical uses of the range...

There are two of these on the market, one from Tamron and one from Samyang. As a kind of bonus, they go to 150mm, not 135mm.

Canon's STM has been fast traditionally I'd say. I'm not a huge fan of their consumer zooms, though (mechanically). But then it always "depends".

Do you think the STM autofocus on this lens will be responsive enough for fast-paced portrait or sports photography, especially compared to USM or linear motors?
