Just in case you are wondering ...

I did the 300, 450 and 600mm tests during the last 2 days.

Thus 150mm is missing.

The reviews should be up next week.

It's a complete nightmare to test those long lenses ...

It's also a complete nightmare to adjust such a lens. I'm not regretting at all that I sold mine. Am quite happy with the 100-400 Fujinon.

What made you skip the 150mm?

P. S. Was testing any different when you were evaluating the 400+ mm lenses of yore? (say, the Tamron 200-500mm, the 500mm mirror.............)

Well, I still have to do the 150mm setting but this is easy.

Everything beyond 400mm is a pain to test. Not because it's any different from the setup but finding a location where you can do it in a controlled manner is ....gnahhh!!!

Hi Klaus,

can you share some preliminary impressions of those 150-600 lenses? I am in the market for one and have a safari trip coming up soon, so any hint which one to go for would be much appreciated. Currently I am unsure whether to go of the Sigma 150-600 C, the Tamron 150-600 or the Canon 100-400.

Thanks!

I will do my best to publish the first review on Sunday. Unfortunately tax hell delayed all this.

No rush. On DPReview the long awaited review of D810 is online since two days.

It was worth the wait. I like it even more now  ^_^
