The Pentax forum (DPR) is claiming that the 11-16mm has been delayed until 2019..........

........wasn't that a Tokina choice of focal length.

If delays were profitable........Pentax would be the richest company ever..........but maybe still behind Tesla!

It was 11-18, not 11-16. The latter was only a Tokina lens, not a Pentax. So it has to be a new design.

But you're right in that Pentax is the king of delays in the photographic world. Though Canon did take a stab at it with their 200-400. Tongue
Again, this "it's a Tokina" nonsense? There's at least a Ricoh patent for the 11-18mm; it's a Ricoh design.
But that's to be expected, when one can't even get the focal length right :p

By the way, a most comprehensive self-interview:

On DPR Pentax forums they are talking about the delay for the DA 11-16mm which is the same focal length as the Tokina.....I'm not saying that it is the same lens design in the least however........

No doubt the delay would be the same!
Davidmanze, you're repeating the same nonsense despite being told the truth.

There's no DA 11-16mm planned. There's a DA* 11-18mm f/2.8, yes it was delayed for the next year and it's a Ricoh design as proved by a recently published patent.
I'm guessing that the D FA* 50mm f/1.4's delay is at least partially responsible for the DA*'s.

If you are right .....good for you!
Sigh... of course I'm right; I'm taking the information from Ricoh Imaging - not from some random forum thread's title.
Here's the official announcement with the postponement:

Yes of course!......but Pentax depresses me.........

They are never late for a product postponement!

Always on time!!
Pretty easy thing: to stay away from depressing companies... Smile

I never looked back after I sold all Pentax gear - the only lenses I kept in good memory were the 50-150/2.8 and the 10-20/3.5 from Sigma.
Not going back just to annoy the ones that didn't left with you is the civil thing to do.
