It all depends on the degree of noise.
Regarding the patent - I'm slightly wondering whether
* front cooling will suck in dust where you really don't want it
* front cooling is less efficient than rear cooling. I suspect that the protection glass / AA filter is a good isolator
Have always wondered why no cooling grip was made, IMHO if you want to put fans and extra batteries to operate them that's the ideal place.

How can a bottom mounted grip cool a camera? Plastic is a good isolator.

The engine does get cooled inside, by water channels and oil.
