Very impressive results for such a fast lens me thinks.

Hum. Seems much better technically than the other 85's zeiss is producing. I wonder how it compares to the N 85 design wise. Bit perplexed by how zeiss chooses which design to use for which system. (the 50 for the N system is also a bit different than the other 50's they are producing).

Maybe N lenses are still under contract by Contax

Optics look flawless but I don't think I could convince myself to spend that kind of $$$ for a lens without IF and SSM.

IF shoudln't be a deal breaker, IMO. Don't forget that IF essentially makes a prime a varifocal, or even a zoomlens (automatically, with focusing rather than exact control) <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />.

Kind regards, Wim <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Will you also retest the 24-70/2.8ZA in FF? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Yes, the plan is to test the "primary" gang (Z24-70, 70-200, 70-300, 70-400, 135STF, Z24).

This will take a while though.

for the example shots do you pop the pictures into acr and then, using adobe's standard settings only, the picture pops out - or you put a bit of effort into it?
