So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - Klaus - 08-05-2020 60mm f/2.8 35mm f/2 https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/zenitar-has-announced-this-new-60mm-f-2-8-fe-macro-lens/ I've to admit that I have a soft spot for Zenitars ;-) RE: So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - Rover - 08-05-2020 The 60/2.8 is slated to have an electronic aperture control, at long last. Wondering what took them (us) so long, but it's a good thing that the company (which is actually a part of a huge technology conglomerate) is finally stepping away from just riding the coattails of the old Soviet-era designs (which never seemed that good anyway), rehashing them over and over again. I also think there were a few fast things, too, like 50/1.2 and 85/1.4, for E-mount, a couple of years ago. But frankly until they get AF I won't be interested. As far as I know L mount - open standard 4/3 - open stadart FE - open standart RF - ??? no idea Z - ?? no idea ------------ Lets say I'm Sigma, Tamron , Tokina, Chinese startup or Russian optics manufacturer. Do I have access to current RF/ or Z specs? Am I equal member in such aliance? Can I influence future development of the standard? I think they opened it up recently to some manufacturers at least (Tokina, Viltrox), but I'm not sure whether it's publicly open. RE: So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - Klaus - 08-05-2020 Yes, it is super odd for the latecomers to insist on a closed system. That being said - the fanboys insist that the RF protocol is basically identical to EF. RE: So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - davidmanze - 08-06-2020 So did I, or we, miss seeing the Zenith 50mm F0.95 lens ........ for the Sony E mount ?? .......... thus I dug out a review or at least a partial one .... as it was curtailed due to obvious flaws ...... https://phillipreeve.net/blog/quick-review-zenitar-50mm-0-95-e/ ....... the bokeh is also dreadful ..... .... let's hope the macro does substantially better !! RE: So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - Brightcolours - 08-09-2020 Canon's RF is not the same as EF, a much faster and extended protocol. The cameras are EF backward compatible through the mount. RE: So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - Klaus - 08-10-2020 Another one - a 58mm f/1.9 - fairly huge for what it is I'd say https://photorumors.com/2020/08/09/zenit-announced-a-new-selena-58mm-f-1-9-lens/ RE: So even the Russians are making lenses for Sony FE now ... - Brightcolours - 08-10-2020 The lens elements are very recessed.... Looks like a Canon 50mm f1.8 with old macro style "integrated hood" extended barrel design. |
