The 60/2.8 is slated to have an electronic aperture control, at long last. Wondering what took them (us) so long, but it's a good thing that the company (which is actually a part of a huge technology conglomerate) is finally stepping away from just riding the coattails of the old Soviet-era designs (which never seemed that good anyway), rehashing them over and over again.
I also think there were a few fast things, too, like 50/1.2 and 85/1.4, for E-mount, a couple of years ago. But frankly until they get AF I won't be interested.

Yes, it is super odd for the latecomers to insist on a closed system.
That being said - the fanboys insist that the RF protocol is basically identical to EF.

Canon's RF is not the same as EF, a much faster and extended protocol. The cameras are EF backward compatible through the mount.

Another one - a 58mm f/1.9 - fairly huge for what it is I'd say

The lens elements are very recessed.... Looks like a Canon 50mm f1.8 with old macro style "integrated hood" extended barrel design.
