Samyang AF 12mm f/2 E announced - Klaus - 04-24-2021 https://www.samyanglens.com/en/product/product-view.php?seq=531 Seems to be the AF variant of the manual focus 12mm f/2 Odd MTF curve - especially for a lens targeting Astro. It seems to have quite some astigmatism at the corners. RE: Samyang AF 12mm f/2 E announced - Rover - 04-25-2021 Have you tested the MF version? Can't seem to find a review here. I thought coma actually is the big fiend of astro? Coma and astigmatism are very reasonable, according to LensTip: https://www.lenstip.com/404.7-Lens_review-Samyang_12_mm_f_2.0_NCS_CS_Coma__astigmatism_and_bokeh.html People do seem to appreciate it in the astro field. https://www.alexroddie.com/2019/09/ode-to-the-samyang-12mm-f-2-wide-angle-lens.html https://i.redd.it/r6ywc0hgrpu41.jpg RE: Samyang AF 12mm f/2 E announced - thxbb12 - 04-25-2021 From the various reviews I read elsewhere it seems to be pretty good optically. This is a welcome addition in a compact form factor. I wonder when Samyang is going to release some of their AF lenses for X mount. IIRC Fuji opened their AF protocol to 3rd parties. RE: Samyang AF 12mm f/2 E announced - giulio - 04-26-2021 From the samples it should have a 7 blades diaphram, much much better than the 6 one in the manual focus version. |
