Right. But if the JPG shows more than the RAW... or make two RAWs with 4-5 stops difference and combine them in post. I never got the idea behind 7 slightly different pictures.

Ha, finally someone else who does not get that. Me neither, 2 or 3 images with several stops between should do the job just fine (although I never am happy with HDR results, that has nothing to do with the number of images).
