Well, the Sigma feels more substantial for sure. I don't think that this matters though.
The Canon has a light-speed AF which makes a difference maybe. Given their overall characteristics they are different but similar in desirability. Personally I'd probably lean towards the Sigma due to a bitingly sharp center (better than in the Nikon test) even at f/1.4.

That is not a good bokeh test, but a highlights test....

The 35/2IS has its own set of weaknesses though. |
