Canon flagship camera to offer 5G connectivity

An executive said loud and clear :
"Devices inside the camera will need to be different when the 5G environment is ready."
That would be an extremely interesting feature, then why wouldn't Canon collaborate with a phone maker to introduce phone connectivity to their EOSM
EOS M is not too big, and a phone with APS-C sensor and EOS M mount should be a great innovation

LOL at your "phone" conclusion...

You wish a phone to be 3cm thick at least, and that is not counting a APS-C lens mounted? With Windows on it of course. :-P

I miss windows phone days.. That was an awesome operating system...
But yes if it's like Zeiss with SSD and image editing properties, that would be really great
#6
I don't think Zeiss makes a phone...

The Panasonic CM1 was quite close (1" sensor). 21m thickness including the lens (28mm equiv).

Hardware isn't everything, it had an old android, with RAW files issues, lumia 1020 had the best camera of its time and by a big margin, had it been an android phone with all the apps it would have had plenty of success, had Panasonic taken more care of the phone side of their camera (partnership is a good way) it would have had a lot of success

The CM1 was poorly marketed and in the context of its time of release - too expensive.
Today, with the madness of a iPhone 11 PRO or high-end androids, it wouldn't be a "normal" price tag really.

Anyway, we are still waiting for a photographer's smartphone. Maybe the Hydrogen 2.

Microsoft surface preceded Apple iPad but Steve Jobs knew better how to sell his product.
So Yes this time again Microsoft had the idea before with Lumia 1020, poor execution by Panasonic, Yongnuo are giving a try (expected to fail) with a phone having EF mount and MFT sensor, let's see if someone (probably not Canon they are too traditional) will get things right
