"World’s first telephoto zoom lens achieving full-range F1.7, for stills and video." and "... Enjoy the quality of F1.7 throughout the 50-100mm zoom range (35mm camera equivalent)"
Oh, we are talking "35mm camera equivalent" (I presume they mean 135 format)?

IOW: "World’s first telephoto zoom lens achieving full-range F3.4 (fFF equivalent), for stills and video." Yeah... not thaaat impressive. Price is a bit ouch: USD $1800.

What is impressive: it does not focus breath. What is not so nice: it is not at all parfocal.

It makes me wonder why Oly didn't release a successor of the 35-100mm f/2.

Yes, "just" a 70-200mm f/4 but still nice to have for MFT

I must agree there, a 70-200mm f4 is nice on FF too.

The pair 10-25 and 25-50 f1.7 makes for an awesome focal range. With these 2 lenses I'd pretty much be all set, except for the huge size of course.

A FF 20-100 f4 would be the perfect lens if it existed ;-)

Sigma did make a 50-100f1.8 for APS-C however it was not successful despite being a very good lens I don't expect this one to do any better

This one is targeted especially at video, just like the wide end f1.7 mentioned above. So, it will do well enough for its video MFT target audience. Not designed for high volume sales...

Only part of the story, but I know you know that.....
