next PZ lens test report: Fujinon XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS
#21
Quote:No I wasn't mate, perhaps I wrongly assumed that comparisons could be made between one camera and lens combination with another - eg Fuji x-pro1 / Fuji 35mm f1.4 and Nikon D7000 / Nikon 35mm f1.4. So am I wrong in this?

Edit: I have returned to also seek confirmation my assumption that a comparison between say 35mm on the x-pro1 and the 18-55mm again on the x-pro1 is valid using the data from this site - thanks again Klaus. :-D

The X-Pro1/X-E1 have no AA filter whereas the D7000 has one. The RAW converters are also different.

Thus the pure numerical values are not comparable.

We usual recommend to compare the charts "visually" but not numerically - thus ignore the scales. This gives a rough guidance.

A numerical comparison is only valid within the same system (=same base camera).

(PS: the X-Pro1 & X-E1 count as same base, I just liked the X-E1 more so I switched here)
