Excellent pictures but that should probably be credited to you (and the model) than to the lens in itself. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Very nice series of photos, Sergei. I like that you are not one of the new bunch of internet-photographers who seem to think "blowing highlights" is something to worry about, or who think a high DR of more than 8 EV is something to strive for.

This lens indeed has very nice bokeh rendering, thank you for showing your photos and the lens.

May be it's my uncalibrated screen, but to me the pictures

look like 0.5 to 1EV on the overexposed side.

From my personal experience with adapted lenses, I know that

its not always easy to find the correct exposure. I usually dial in

an EC of -2/3EV with mine.

Nevertheless, that's eventually a matter of personal taste.

If you like the photos as they are, that's what counts.

Just my 2cts ... Rainer

Nice images Sergei, but a tad overexposed for my taste. The bokeh is pleasent (both in back- and foreground), but I think it could look even better if some of the shots above were a bit darker.

All in all, I believe these ex-DDR / Russian lenses with those prices are real gems (especially variety of M42 lenses to be used on Canon or Pentax). I came by a few medium format lenses but I ignored them. Does this one have an F mount adapter also?

Very nice photographs <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Looks like the bokeh is good as well.

The pictures of the lens reminds me of Petri. I had a 135mm f/2.8 Petri, and it was all metal and very beautiful. The focus ring was very well damped and felt perfect. If your is anything like that, I'm sure it's at least good to handle <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

<img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> I'm almost agree with you. I think - the formula of good photo contain elements:

Good photo=good work of photographer (technics, composition)+good work of model (emotion, posing)+good correctly chosen lens <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Many thanks for your feedback. You are right now, many photographers do not have a sense of balance.

Nikon F mount? No problem, indeed. Medium format lenses can used on any 35mm SLR mount with adapter.

Since the problem is mostly with the hair I can't help thinking that with a redheaded/brunette model the overall look would be better but I see where the OP was coming from, and even though this kind of look isn't my cup of tea I can totally understand his vision since the hair color meshes well with the surroundings.

The face is well exposed and that's more important.

The top of the head is burnt out on most of the pictures. It looks like they were taken in the middle of the day with sun relatively high. Not the best conditions of course! Would be better with an umbrella out of sight to get more even light on the face as well. But very nice model and bokeh on the average to good side! It is hard to judge when the pics are so overexposed.[Image: smile.gif]
