What puzzles me is why would most anyone get this lens since 24/28mm are pretty common focal lengths and most people have them covered, probably many times over (guess everyone already has a wide zoom like 16-35, and probably also a standard lens that starts around this FL, and maybe also one or more specialized lenses (24 TS-E, 24/1.4, etc.) One more lens that has no aperture advantage nor the unique TS-E functionality is pretty hard to justify, especially for the price. There are no specialized 28mm lenses (apart from the 28/1.8 which is, by the way, much cheaper than the new one) but my point about having zooms in the range still stands. That, and 28mm is pretty mundane, especially on APS-C.
