Agreed, it'd be pretty odd to own/carry yet another lens because that defeats the purpose of compactness itself. I'd rather carry two f/2.8 zooms (and I do). Less overall bulk than a bagful of "small" primes and less hassle changing them around.
Which makes these lenses all the more odd. However, I'd be curious to see the testing results if and when they find their way to the Photozone lab.
