I actually think the having the stars for the different category is fine (image and build). The truth be told reviews are very tricky to begin with because 'lenses' have so many different properties. This site tends to focus mostly on pure resolution at a fixed distance with a heavy (maybe too heavy?) weight on vignetting and a light weight on bokeh (at least that has been my impression over the last 2 or 3 years from various reviews (though to be honest I think the scale of 5 might be too tight; a scale of 10 might allow more weight to truely outstanding lenses; very good lenses and average lenses).

There are other sites that focus more on other lens properties.

The things I would like would cost too much in testing time (such as near, middle, infinity focus points; foreground and background bokeh; ...).



What I do here is when I'm shopping is I look for high rated lenses and then re-read the reviews (because I read most of them when posted). A table makes it easy to spot the lenses that are potentially better and focus on their behaviors (though truth be told I've not purchased more than 2 lenses in the last 3 years; but this spring with luck i hope to enter fuji pro or nex (7 or 5n) land <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ).
