And another "feature" shared by both of my Panasonic lenses (20 & 14-45, dunno if the 7-14 is affected): focusing ring resistance varies a lot with ambiant temperature. It's perfectly normal up to some point but here it is frankly a little dubious. Veeeery stiff in winter conditions (0-5°c) and very loose above 25°c. Never had any of this with say USM & EF-S lenses. Not really an issue as they're not mechanically linked but still a bit of a downer on these otherwise decently build lenses.

Yes, that Panasonic rubber seems to feature a higher than usual dust gravity. It's the same on the other lenses here.
