And of course you won't change your system as a Canon user and I think that's the reason why you rather deemphasize the advantages of the Nikon D800. But hey, it's ok as lomg as it works for you.

I know that chart, that is why I said the DR is manipulated. But, that is wrong. I should have said, and actually meant, the DR may be manipulated. Not "is".
Still the D800 has a better DR.
And still, my point remains (nothing what so ever to do with what I own): I always LIMIT the DR in photos. I increase contrast which is just that: limiting the DR. As such, I can not see the real advantage, other than messing up images and trying to rescue them, of anything near the stated DR.
Like I said, if the DR is actually that meaningful, then one could not even start to use ISO 400. But in reality, ISO 1600 from both cameras gives great files.
And print, print gives you a DR of about 5 stops. Just to place it into perspective.
It might change if I actually would be into astro photography, and there is no catch like in the past with Nikon and longer exposure time NR in RAW. I do not know if that has changed. But, I am not into astro photography.
The reason I rather go for a 5D mk III I already stated... most important, the lenses. Does not mean I would not be impressed by a D800 either.
